Not too thrilled that my other post is getting so many notes when I'm not satisfied with it for a multitude of reasons. Let's have a do-over, hopefully much more succinct and to the original point.
When Palestinians, actually basically all Arabs, or all Muslims, say "Jerusalem is holy to us it is the 3rd holiest city in our religion." The White Western Leftist (WWL) will say "That's so valid your religion is so interesting and beautiful Hamas did nothing wrong I love the Houthis!"
But if a Jew ever rebuts "Jerusalem is holy to us as well, it's our holiest city, basically the only one we have," the WWL will probably roll their eyes, scoff, probably say something like "Okay but like why are you still using your outdated Zionist death cult to justify colonialism? You really think the Bible justifies killing millions of Palestinians?" and start going on and on about how Judaism invented everything bad about Christianity.
My hypothesis: These people are not allies to Muslims (Palestinians). They are condescending to them. They are throwing them a bone because they feel bad about how the Muslim world has been treated, well ever since Sykes-Picot, but especially post 9/11, the Patriot Act, The War on Terror, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Drone War, Libya, Nato, The Arab Spring, the list goes on. They don't think Muslims are capable of building the kind of societies they want, not without their gracious help. They don't think Muslims should have the same ideals of democracy and human rights, because they don't expect that from the Brown People. They won't ever hold them to such a standard because "Ugh where do we get off lecturing them?" even though they would never think this of Jews.
These people are not equals to Jews, something something Sartre they think they are both superior and inferior (which makes them superior). They are not just trying to hold their fellow citizens of the world to account. They are trying to put Jews in their place. They are projecting their religious trauma onto Jews because they do not understand Judaism. They see Judaism as Power. They are trying to delegitimize Judaism as a religion (and it is a religion, including the parts of religions that give atheists the "ick," including a lot of mysticism). They are trying to caterwaul about Jews being responsible for the world's ills and that they expect Jewish People to be better than this. To evolve beyond religion and community and affiliation and identity. They want Jewish to be nothing more than a box ticked off on a census. A neat little factoid about yourself, like how your neighbor Cheryl has Norwegian ancestry.
My only conclusion is that these people find Jews and Judaism repulsive, and they find Muslims and Islam primitive. Unlike their parents' generation, they appreciate the primitive. It is noble savagery to them. Unlike their parents' generation, the comparatively cosmopolitan modern secular Western sheen of Jewry (applied to Jews against their will) is not something that we almost lost from the world, but an annoying holdover of what we almost successfully purged from the world.
Because remember, while they hate their parents and everything they stand for, they still deep down want Daddy's approval. So it makes perfect sense why the psyche would displace anger and trauma and all that caused by Christianity, and look elsewhere to place blame. It falls at the feet of Jews and Judaism. Because my culture could never, there has to be a missing puzzle piece that could explain- oh there it is. The Jews did it. And wow look how easily this can slot in with every other antisemitism conspiracy theory.
The audacity to think I could make a shorter version of that post 😂 But basically it's this: The WWL, the Zoomer Left, the Tankies, whatever name you call them... they think that they can "save" Muslims by offering up Jews, and the terrorist fascist fundamentalists like Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, they're on board. They're all in. Normal ass every day Muslims/Palestinians? They just want peace, they just want rights, they just want sovereignty. The WWL is not interested in that perspective.
They have not once in their lives thought of what they could possibly do in terms of reparations. No no, tweeting and marching for a weekend are quite enough. They have not once in their lives turned inward and self reflected on the ways they benefit from and their own role in these systems of supremacy, that have harmed Muslims around the world. Jewish blood is more than enough to pay for operation Iraqi Freedom. Jewish lives are a fetching price to assuage the Westerner's guilt. You know since they have so much trouble turning inward and reflecting on their own contribution to Islamophobia, it might do them good to practice a little תשובה... but I don't know 😌

Let's talk about something I saw literally nobody talk about (sorry if you did and I missed it)
Tumblr media
Yeeessss... Say it, say it
Tumblr media
Yes pour hot oil in that wound... also Jordan's laugh must become my ringtone
Tumblr media
OH NO, RETALIATION! But literally everyone expected this retaliation including Link obviously. Rhett's so mad about this.
Tumblr media
Image is blurry because my internet connection is primitive rn why didn't anybody do this to save me from this struggle?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They mean "straight culture".
Tumblr media
... for anyone who hasn't watched this GMM yet, this conversation had nothing to do with religion, it was just a joke about durability in (straight) sex. So...?
Tumblr media
????
Tumblr media
Ummm... what?
Tumblr media
Don't bother Link now, he is in his "Rhett outed us first this time" dreamland
Tumblr media
I love how Rhett oververbalizes his strategy he would otherwise keep to himself in order to save the unsaveable situation, while Link apparently contemplates whether this means it's finally the right time to propose on camera.
Tumblr media
fu Rhett what you lot eat there isn't actually Greek yoghurt anyway so better go back to creaming Link - sorry my Greek ass had to intervene
Tumblr media
OKAY FINE I'll take it because you Americans live on sour cream so fine
Tumblr media
Okay yeah Link's brain has not moved past this. Also I love Rhett's terror that apparently Link wants to go back there (of course he does).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Silly Jordan, if you had said yes, Link would have given you a raise or something. Dude is trying to find ways to get those slip-ups out of Rhett like it's the road to El Dorado
Tumblr media
Problems problems problems
Tumblr media
Link.exe is processing.... please wait
Tumblr media
Link brain.exe has stopped working
Tumblr media
In his defense, he listened to the one thing that mattered. I mean, let's be fair I didn't listen to the cheese strategy either...
Tumblr media
Sometimes I feel all programs in Link's brain are shut down because the "Loving Rhett" program is using all the RAM
Tumblr media
a culture that isn't yours anymore in a sex talk that had nothing to do with religion? Yep.
Tumblr media
Oh. Yeah, that too.
Tumblr media
Link's brain is in about the same state as my internet now
Tumblr media
Boy. It's amazing! He can't think!

Whites live a fantasy of innocence, create death and destruction for people of color | National Catholic Reporter
Let's get one thing straight, everywhere white people have gone death and destruction followed. From Africa to Australia there's a bloodbath of Black Indigenous People globally being destroyed, enslaved and the loss of rights of their own lands, languages, religions and independence.
These are some wicked and disgusting people who are the worst people on earth and yet they want us to view them as good people, I will never see anything good about these shit people until they are dead and gone.
We can't coexist with these shit people, it's impossible to do that. The crimes they committed against us are beyond repair and no amount of money can replace their evilness against innocent people.
Everywhere colonization took place it left our Black Indigenous People in ruins, they only talked about Africa and yet these genocides and enslavement didn't just happen in Africa, it is everywhere these shit people and their Christian religion went.
The disheartening truth is that if some of the Black Indigenous People who fought back these shit people left some of us alone but they made up horrible lies about some of us being cannibals and primitive. India was slammed by the colonizers and left India in ruins the same way they did with Africa, Asia, Australia, America, The South Pacific, Oceania and so on.
Ask them to explain these genocides? You get nothing but denials and lies, because these shit people do nothing but pull shit out of their asses and think that we should accept it as truth. I spent 26 years of my life meeting with the Indigenous Black People who left Africa 60,000 years ago and all of their stories are the same.
How can anyone justify that? There are no words that can describe or defend such evil and atrocious behavior. It's really a wake up call for all humans around the world to attack whiteness and Christianity because this is the shit that is destroying everything on earth.

''Humanities are unnecesary and a burden in modern society!'' is a statement that will never be valid, at least not as long as we get takes as moronic as this one.
Tumblr media
Losing my mind at this guy. Literally a google search away. They do not even try to hide it. And most people who see this, according to the numbers in the tweet, do agree!
But it gets worse.
Tumblr media
Those dumb guys in the primitive americas did not know how to write. Wait, what? What's this?
Tumblr media
Wait, what? A mayan king commemorating an HISTORICAL battle by using WRITTEN GLYPHS? B-but they have no sense of time or writting! That must be a fluke!
Mmmh? But...?
Tumblr media
A stel portraying a maya queen, with again written symbols mentioning her directly?
''No, those don't count, they're just dumb short phrases, they are surely uncapable of writting down coherent tex-''
Tumblr media
Wow, the Dresden Codex, dated from 11th century (mayans were not even at their peak here) writting down their religion, customs, different gods and even complex astronomical movements all-in-one!
Those stone age troglodytes were surely lucky to be able to keep time counts in the thousands of years!
Tumblr media
Okay, you're right. Mentioning mayans is cheating because they do not use enough ''actual words'' only drawn ones!
Tumblr media
Forget the fact they had a whole ass syllabic system, that experts have been deciphering for decades.
By this rule of thumb, the japanese are all illiterate because they do not actually use words, but abstractions in the form of syllabes. Maya greatest mistake was to do their particles too artistically or something.
The previous tweet implied there was going to be a threat debunking whatever rambling that person was on about, but it stopped there. So... okay.
Tumblr media
Regarding the aztecs, that would actually be somewhat accurate. They relied mostly on ideographic writting, but they also combined syllabes. They were still developing their language independently of the mayans. The process was interrupted by the arrival of the spanish crown.
However the writting of the aztecs is stupid and primitive because it doesnt resemble my latin alphabet enough AAAAGH! With such underdeveloped writting they wouldn't be able to write texts, let alone make librar-
Tumblr media
Someone else answered, and it's literally the first google result right now, putting this curious image.
I wonder what it's trying to convey.
Tumblr media
Solved. It's not a library because... well it's not! It's made of stone and has stupid scribblings stored. It's a nu-library!
Tumblr media
How are we going to tell Asurbanipal his assyrian library does not count because it's just not a library, because we need to dunk on the americas?
Tumblr media
Forget the books. The real reason they're regressive is because they had no wheel.
Tumblr media
They obviously relegated the wheel to toys, because after inventing, polishing it, even using it metaphorically in their intrincate calendars, they decided they didn't know how to use it beyond children toys. It was, again, a skill issue.
Regarding armor and weapons, did you know spanish conquistadores discarded their plate mails and used cotton armor from the natives, far better resistant to rust, and able to disperse slashing and piercing damage with comparable success? Far more comfortable, mobile, and less prone to well, cooking you alive.
How come, also, that Mayas and Aztecs knew each other? They lived in different zones of Mexico with frontiers separated by kilometers? Their trading routes (shared) must have been a stroke of dumb luck.
Tumblr media
Apparently if you don't cross the whole ass Pacific/Atlantic Ocean, it does not count. By the way, did anyone in China, India, Africa, Europe or even Australia know about the Native Americans?
Conclussion: If you exclude Mayans, Aztecs, a myriad of other cultures in the Americas, their issolation to the rest of the continents, their set of beliefs, languages, structures, trade routes, traditions, libraries and use of the wheel among some other ''tiny'' advancements... well, you're right. They end being quite primitive.
I guess that's their fault. Maybe they should have conquered us first or some crap.
Tumblr media
Those morons and their obscure scribblings.
PD: I excluded this person name in purpose. Do not send harassment to them. This generalized ignorance of America cultures does not radiate from a single person, instead is a shared set of common beliefs. We must combat the biased takes in constructive ways.

So far we have given little or no attention to the evidence of comparative religion. The study of ancient religious history is important, for religion, like philosophy, changes but slowly. Institutional religion, being conservative and static in its outlook, has preserved much ancient lore that would have otherwise been lost to the modern student.
The Greek philosopher Xenophanes (572–480 B.C.), pointed out a profound truth when he observed that the gods men worship very closely resemble the worshippers. In the words of this ancient sage: “Each man represents the gods as he himself is. The Ethiopian as black and flat-nosed the Thracian as red-haired and blue-eyed; and if horses and oxen could paint, they would no doubt depict the gods as horses and oxen.” This being the case; when we find the great nations of the world, both past and present, worshipping black gods, then we logically conclude that these peoples are either members of the black race, or that they originally received their religion in toto or in part from black people. The proofs are abundant.
The ancient gods of India are shown with Ethiopian crowns on their heads. According to the Old Testament, Moses first met Jehovah during his sojourn among the Midianites, who were an Ethiopian tribe. We learn from Hellenic tradition that Zeus, king of the Grecian gods, so cherished the friendship of the Ethiopians that he traveled to their country twice a year to attend banquets. “All the gods and goddesses of Greece were black,” asserts Sir Godfrey Higgins, “at least this was the case with Jupiter, Baccus, Hercules, Apollo, Ammon. The goddesses Benum, Isis, Hecate, Diana, Juno, Metis, Ceres, Cybele were black.” (Anacalypsis, Vol. I, Book IV, Chap. I.)
Even the Romans, who received their religion mainly from the Greeks, admitted their debt to Egypt and Ethiopia. This may be well illustrated by the following passage from The Golden Ass or Metamorphosis, by Apuleius. The author, as an initiate of the Isis cult is represented as being addressed by that goddess: “I am present; I who am Nature, the parent of things, queen of all the elements … the primitive Phrygians called me Pressimunitica, the mother or the gods; the native Athenians, Ceropian Minerva; the floating Cyprians, Paphian Venus … the inhabitants of Eleusis, the ancient goddess Ceres. Some again have invoked me as Juno, others as Bellona, others as Hecate, and others Rhamnusia; and those who are enlightened by the emerging rays of the rising sun, the Ethiopians, Ariians and Egyptians, powerful in ancient learning, who reverence by divinity with ceremonies perfectly proper, call me by my true appellation, Queen Isis.” (Doane’s Bible Myths, Note, p. 478.)
A study of the images of ancient deities of both the Old and New Worlds reveal their Ethiopic origin. This is noted by Kenneth R. H. Mackezie in T. A. Buckley’s Cities of the Ancient World, p. 180: “From the wooly texture of the hair, I am inclined to assign to the Buddha of India, the Fuhi of China, the Sommonacom of the Siamese, the Zaha of the Japanese, and the Quetzalcoatl of the Mexicans, the same, and indeed an African, or rather Nubian, origin.” Most of these black gods were regarded as crucified saviors who died to save mankind by being nailed to a cross, or tied to a tree with arms outstretched as if on a cross, or slain violently in some other manner.
Of these crucified saviors, the most prominent were Osiris and Horus of Egypt, Krishna of India, Mithra of Persia, Quetazlcoatl of Mexico, Adonis of Babylonia and Attis of Phrygia. Nearly all of these slain savior-gods have the following stories related about them: They are born of a virgin, on or near Dec. 25th (Christmas); their births are heralded by a star; they are born either in a cave or stable; they are slain, commonly by crucifixion; they descend into hell, and rise from the dead at the beginning of Spring (Easter), and finally ascend into heaven. The parallels between the legendary lives of these pagan messiahs and the life of Jesus Christ as recorded in the Bible are so similar that progressive Bible scholars now admit that stories of these heathen Christs have been woven into the life-story of Jesus. (These remarkable parallels are discussed and interpreted in a pamphlet, Christianity Before Christ, by John G. Jackson, New York, 1938.)
The late Mr. Maynard Shipley, President of The Science League of America, made a very scholarly study of the various mythologies and religions of the world, and in the concluding passage of a brilliant essay, Christian Doctrines in Pre-Christian America, he offers a profoundly thought-provoking statement:
That the ancient pagan creeds, legends and myths—part of the universal mythos—should be found embodied in the religion of the ancient Mexicans, and that all these again are found to be but the original sources of the modern orthodox Christian religion, is by no means inexplicable, and need not be attribute to the subtlety of the Ubiquitous Devil. The explanation is that all religions and all languages of the civilized races of men had a common origin in an older seat of civilization.
Where that original center of culture was is another story.
The evidence seems to show that the “original center of culture,” referred to by Mr. Shipley, was that vast domain known to the classical geographers and historians as Ethiopia. A study of religious images throws much light on this early civilization. The tau (T-shaped) cross is thought by many Christians to be a unique emblem of their faith. The fact is that this cross is of ancient Ethiopian origin. In the words of an outstanding student of symbolism: “The Ethiopic form of the tau is an exact prototype of the conventional Christian cross; or, to state the fact in its chronological relation, the Christian cross is made in the exact image of the Ethiopian tau.” (Sex Symbolism. P. 9, by William J, Fielding, Little Blue Book No. 904.) The cross was known to all the great ancient nations, and was sometimes shown with the image of a man upon it. The Church Father, Minucius Felix, writing in the early part of the third century, severely rebukes the Pagans for their adoration of crosses: “I must tell you that we neither adore crosses nor desire them; you it is ye Pagans … for what else are your ensigns, flags and standards, but crosses gilt and beautiful. Your victorious trophies not only represent a cross, but a cross with a man upon it.” Commenting on the preceding extract, the American scholar, T. W. Doane, notes that:
It is very evident that this celebrated Christian Father alludes to some Gentle mystery, of which the prudence of his successors has deprived us. When we compare this with the fact that for centuries after the time assigned for the birth of Jesus Christ, he was not represented as a man on a cross, and that the Christians did not have such a thing as a crucifix, we are inclined to think that the effigies of a black or dark-skinned crucified man, which were to be seen in many places in Italy even during the last century, may have had something to do with it. (Bible Myths, p. 197, 7th Edition.)
The same writer also refers to “the Mexican crucified god being sometimes represented as black,” and that “crosses were also found in Yucatan, as well as Mexico, with a man upon them.” (Ibid., p. 201.)
The numerous black madonnas and infants in European cathedrals are discussed in detail by Sir Godfrey Higgins in The Anacalypsis, Vol. I, Book IV, Chap. I, to which the interested student is referred. However, the remarks of Mr. Shipley on this point are worthy of our attention:
Very suggestive is the fact that representations of the virgin mother and infant savior are often black. This is true in the case of the paintings and images of Isis and Horus, of Devaki and Krishna, and in many cases of Mary and Jesus. The most ancient pictures and statues in Italy and other parts of Europe, which are adored by the faithful as representations of the Virgin Mary and the infant Jesus, reveal the infant draped in white, but with face black and in the arms of a black mother. … How does it happen that the Virgin Mother of the Mexican Savior-God so closely resembled the Black Virgins of Egypt and Europe? Had they not all a common origin?” (Sex and The Garden of Eden Myth, pp. 50–51, by Maynard Shipley, Little Blue Book No.1188.)
Mr. A. H. Verrill, an American archaeologist, visited an Indian shrine in a small town in Guatemala a few years ago, and found that on a special festival day Indians traveled to this little church to bow down to the image of a Black Christ. From the attendant ceremonies, Verrill judged the rite to be of Mayan origin. (see Verrill’s Old Civilizations of the New World, New York, 1938.) The Mayas possessed knowledge of the arts and sciences equivalent to that of the ancients of the Old World, but upon that we cannot dwell, since limitations of space forbid it. The reader is referred to Professor Paul Radin’s fine book on the American Indians, where after surveying the marvelous scientific achievements of the Mayas of Yucatan and Central America , Dr. Radin admits that: “No excavations have ever revealed to us any civilization of a simpler nature from which this very elaborate culture could possibly have been developed.” (The Story of the American Indian, p. 77, Garden City, 1937.)
Egypt and Western Asia tell the same story. “In each case we have a standard or measuring-rod of authentic historical record,” declares Samuel Laing, “of certainly not less than 8,000 and more probably 9,000 or 10,000 years, from the present time; and in each case we find ourselves at this remote date, in the presence, not of rude beginnings, but of a civilization already ancient and far advanced. We have populous cities, celebrated temples, an organized priesthood, an advanced state of agriculture and of the industrial and fine arts; writing and books so long known that their origin is lost in myth; religions in which advanced philosophical and moral ideas are already developed; astronomical systems which imply a long course of accurate observations. How long this prehistoric age may have lasted, and how many centuries it may have taken to develop such a civilization, from the primitive beginnings of Neolithic and Paleolithic origins, is a matter of conjecture. All we can infer is, that it must have required an immense time, much longer than that embraced by the subsequent period of historical record.” (Human Origins, by Samuel Laing, p. 30, London, 1913.)
Much more could be said on this subject, but since this essay is addressed mainly to readers who have little time for the study of history, it must be made as concise as possible. The numerous citations from standard scientific and historical works, it is hoped, will be of some benefit to students who are out of reach of large public libraries, or who lack the leisure time necessary for reading and research along these lines.

i need to charge up my creativity...these last days I have quite a few ideas for stuff, but zero motivation for anything, spent a lot of time with napping or sleeping...
today I ate corn for lunch and now boiled potatoes with spinach...I'm still probably hungry afterwards, but I am working towards to at least eating a bit more healthy, even if it's not less.
(I am ashamed to say, that even as an adult, I am very picky with my vegetables. My grandma wasn't exactly someone who cooked a lot of it when I was a child, and my mother loves hotpots, but she cooked them on the other hand so often that I grew sick of it...my family says "Sae eats well!"...Sae eats well when the food is tasty for him. Sadly.)
But I'm trying to implement them slowly but surely in my diet (even though often I am too stubborn to eat the vegetables I bought and let them wilt. I hate when that happens, I'm such a manchild sometimes.)
And I hate wasting food. I did eat rotten food before, because I didn't want to waste it. Not very smart, I know. Actually, really fucking stupid. But when I think, that in meats case, an animal sacrificed himself so that I could live another day, I get really depressed and can't do it. It's like the animal dying was in vain, and it makes me angry.
I don't have the sheer will to turn vegetarian or even vegan, but the least I can do is honor the death of it, by making it a part of my own.
I heard that religion back in the prehistoric ages was all about being grateful for a good hunt, or having rituals so that the hunt might succeed. That included honoring the dying animal by painting it on the walls, or singing in the honor of its soul. That's also the reason why we like hearing singing with echo, like in churches or bathrooms- because the rituals were held in the caverns, and it reminds some primitive part of us of those ages. Don't quote me on that though, it's been years since I last heard of that theory.
Going back to the food talk...(sorta) It's going to be really hot again this week. I was hoping that it would be tolerable before my big appointment, but I don't seem to be in gods grace right now. Which is okay. He's already good enough with me as it is. Sometimes, you just gotta sack it up and endure.
Which means - I shouldn't go outside with this heat. Which means, of course- I can't go grocery shopping. Or at least, I got to hydrate properly before going outside, which is a giant pain in the ass (it's complicated, don't ask)
At the very least, I went outside a bit today. The sun was shining, and there were a lot of people (i was exasperated), annnd I bought a new shoujo manga. I didn't even notice it's from the same mangaka who created lovesick ellie. But I guess I was drawn to it, because it subconciously reminded me of it. "Definitly love", they call it in Germany. It's quite cute, the heroine is almost the same as last manga personality wise, but...it's kind of a guilty pleasure. You know it's not some revolutionary shit, but you keep coming back for more.
It keeps me at least a little bit sane. Inmersing myself in other worlds, I mean. I am fully aware that's it's very luxurious escapism, but...people scare me. A lot. I get half a panic attack only thinking about them getting displeased with me. Never learned how to deal with conflict I guess, only by shutting up and ignoring it.
Which most of the times doesn't make the conflict go away. Actually, most times, if it involves humans, it mutates into some atrocity. I am aware. Yet the fear is just too strong. Humans scare me so much.
Yet, how communities work, is through conflict and, generally speaking, talking things out. And I noticed that we suck in the peacefully speaking department. Our selfish nature doesn't allow us more often than not to consider other peoples feelings. I'm no different. But that's one of the many reasons why I try not to interact too much - I feel like a bother. And I am. I know it.
But as said, I need to work. I want to work, in a job, and have a healthy lifestyle and routine, and maybe even work on my self, physically and emotionally. For some reason, I never seem to change though. My advanced mental illness doesn't help to be strong, because it's a huge handicap, when you got a little monster in your head that inserts images and words in your head you don't want, and worst case scenario, materializes in form of mean, bullying voices. Thank goodness the later didn't happen for years now (As I am aware for now. Illusions are so real I can't differentiate it from the real thing.)
But yeah, I know, TMI.
Anyways, enough trauma dumping. I'm sorry if this text upset you, dear reader, and I hope you can forgive me. Hopefully this text is so long that you gave up halfway through.
At least...I hope there are no readers. I just want to be by myself. Sort things out, yknow?
But yeah. I'm getting drowsy, it's time to kick back and relax a bit.

More niche learning ashwanga and tumeric Indian tea and nescafe.....uhm this area of California does really believe in MacLean or belief in 90s and super brain from primitive brain as developmental issue.....so it does finally calm down and negative that unbearable positivity that unbearable lightness of being that jail cell lights shock with nuclear power to create sadists.....
Uhm here he shouldnt have shot at his own troop reinforcements in Vietnam and then sold cocaine....so here that was wrong to everybody
Uhm it's still really disconnected here from ones feelings.....but having to be purely thought isn't so unpleasant here...it's not disturbing or a problem really to be in kind of a bad area
There is like vineyards and reforestation to do for los Angeles....that is some of the scariest allusions to hell on earth los Angeles...
If I was doing picking as just a voluntary pass time in Ruidoso I'm going to apply to let a job really kick my ass with speed quotas etc...I really want to get it over with so I can finally run away to tell whose left around after something will be abandoned
Well I would like hide in the public bathroom in Ruidoso and learn Darwinian religion so lots of things to apply to missions for.....the homosexual regime of primarily males of four hit teams still controls most space so
I don't think there will be liberation it will still be how merciful can homosexual males be

Just because you have a different view of her it doesn't mean everyone who works with her is evil and want to bring harm upon you ...
"What well being?" 😂😂 right I'm sorry I forgot we don't have those
I will repeat this again: this isn't about you. It does not matter what your personal beliefs/intentions are behind the antisemitic act.
Appropriation of Jewish culture comes from a very long history of Christian supercessionism and replacement theory. People have been trying to eradicate Jews as long as Jews have been around to eradicate, and if they can't outright kill us they can at least try to take pieces of our culture and imitate them, change them, christianize them, and slowly chip away at what makes Jewish culture unique until there is no longer any meaning in what it means to be a Jew, and Jews are assimilated into nonexistence. (This is called cultural genocide.) This is why goyim Passover seders or hanukkah parties are so offensive, and it's the same reason it's antisemitic to appropriate and bastardize Lilith for your own personal gain.
Folks like you who think their personal feelings outweigh 1500+ years of Rabbinic scholarly tradition don't realize that your personal narratives for Lilith often carry antisemitic dogwhistles in them. Ah yes, Lilith is just misunderstood because (((they))) demonized her and all religion was super egalitarian and feminist before that. Ah yes, what a primitive and backwards religion that is. Let's use their midrashim as the CENTRAL pillar of this #BossBabe we've created while also rejecting anything outwardly Jewish about her, and also let's harass random Jews who tell us this is offensive. I am Very Empowered.
Do you get how hard it is to find actual scholarly info about Lilith from a Jewish perspective underneath the pile of y'all's New Age ramblings, most of which was just pulled out of your own ass? It's difficult. Like it actively makes it more difficult for me to study and reconnect with my own culture. That's not an accident.
But yeah, I'm sure you don't mean anything by it. None of that should matter because your ahistorical New Age #BossBabe Lilith makes you feel good.

Sweet Tooth- Gabriel x Reader
|| part 9 ||
word count: 441
warnings: typical supernatural violence
A/N: again a short chapter im so sorry
10 - Fallen Angel
You, Dean, and Sam are again thrown into the ballroom; you don't know how they captured you, but they were quick about it.
"How long have you known?" Gabriel asks Kali
"Long enough."
"How's the rescue going?" Dean sarcastically asks
"Well, surprise, surprise. The Trickster has tricked us." Kali says to the others
"Kali, don't." Gabriel whisper shouts
"You're mine now. And you have something I want" Kali reaches into Gabriel's jacket and removes his angel blade.
"An Archangel's blade. From the Archangel, Gabriel."
"Okay, okay! So I got wings, like Kotex. But that doesn't make me any less right about Lucifer."
"He's lying. He's a spy." Kali says
"I'm not a spy. I'm a runaway. I'm trying to save you. I know my brother, Kali. He should scare the living crap out of you. You can't beat him. I've skipped ahead, seen how this story ends—"
"Your story. Not ours. Westerners, I swear—the sheer arrogance. Do you think you're the only ones on earth? You pillage, and you butcher in your God's name. But you're not the only religion, and he's not the only God. And now you think you can rip the planet apart?" Kali says, cutting off Gabriel
"You're wrong. There are billions of us. We were here first. If anyone gets to end this world, it's me. I'm sorry." Kali stabs Gabriel with his own blade. Gabriel screams as a flash of light is released from his body.
"Gabriel!" You scream as you try to rush over to the now lifeless body but Sam pulls you back
"This is crazy." The god Mercury says
"They can die. We can kill Lucifer." Kali says, turning to face the other gods
"All right, you primitive screwheads, listen up," Dean said, grabbing all of their attention
"Are you outta your mind?" Sam asks angrily
"I'm outta options.." Deans says to his brother,
"Now, on any other given day, I'd be doing my damndest to, uh, kill you. You filthy murdering chimps. But, uh, hey, desperate times. So even though I'd love nothing better than to slit your throats, you dicks, I'm going to help you. I'm going to help you ice the devil. And then we can all get back to ganking each other, like normal. You want Lucifer, well, dude's not in the Yellow Pages. But me and Sam, we can get him here."
"How?" Kali asks him
"First you let those main courses go. Then we talk. We can either take on the devil together, or you lame-ass bitches can eat me. Literally." Dean replies

Because dumb asses are trying to deceive you all:
My sorority is based on christian principles. We have sorors from every religion. I am just a SATURDAY Soror. My journey in my sorority was spiritual from the beginning.
Church & State. Read the damn laws available of this land.
I had NO IDEA ministry would pick me. Other people knew. I DID NOT know that.
I do not care who you all catch up with. I haven't spoken to a soul. Telepathic awareness excluded.
I don't know how many times I have to say people who do not speak TO me, CANNOT speak FOR me. You all are stupid & your thinking is extremely primitive. Slave master thinking is the worst of them all. Free yourselves from those shackles.
MOST of you have an education too, so I will never understand.

Medieval Astronomy resources 🚀👽🌌
there’s a tiny bit of a tendency in resources on medieval astronomy to ignore either:
the contributions of any medieval thinkers towards ideas that gained traction in the scientific revolution (i.e. ‘standing on the shoulders of giants’ is a medieval concept in and of itself! and it applies here!! the Great Man understanding of scientific history really cherry-picks what we remember about the past!!)
the immense contributions and genius of Islamic thinkers towards medieval understandings of astronomy, let alone the fact that Persian and Indian ideas were tied up in all of this
the close relationship between science and religion in medieval Christianity and Islam (it was seen as a way of understanding God’s creation!! it wasn’t seen as bad unless it contradicted established doctrine!! in which case yes sigh the church would scold/ban/burn your ass, depending)
all of the above
and there’s often this undercurrent of “the Greeks and Romans had it sorted and all this knowledge was lost in the ~Dark Ages~ and until Aristotle was ~rediscovered~ the world backslid into ~primitive~ ignorance” 😪
TLDR: these links aren’t as nuanced as they maybe could be, but they’re better than some, so feel free to try mush them together in your brain and see what emerges 😂:
Medieval astronomy | Medieval Science History part 3 (10 mins)
The Medieval Islamicate World: Crash Course History of Science #7 (13 mins)
Religion and Science History in Medieval Europe | Medieval Science History part 5 (11 mins)
Podcast interview with Seb Falk - the guy in Neil deGrasse Tyson’s video above ^^ (19 mins)
Astronomy and Astrology in the Medieval Islamic World (essay/article)
India, the Islamic world, medieval Europe, and China (essay/article - did not give any person or time period before Copernicus enough credit tbh)
anyway astronomy and astrophysics are so SO interesting to me and i love a cheeky bit of overlap with my other One True Love (medieval history) so enjoy the vibes ❤️❤️⭐

Instead of waiting for Gabriel to come up with a plan, you three left the room to see if there was a way to release the inhabitants from the freezer inside the kitchen. You walk into the lobby and immediately hear screaming. The screams get louder as the owner comes closer to the room you’re in. Sam and Dean jump behind a wall to hide, but you just stand there. There are multiple heavy footsteps to go along with the scream, and your eyes widen at the thought of more of those Gods coming.
Sam reaches out and grabs your arm, pulling you into him. He holds you close to his body as the three of you hide. You and Dean peek over the edge of the wall to see multiple Gods dragging one of the occupants of the freezer into the room. They heave him onto the front desk, and one of the gods raise a meat cleaver.
If you don’t do something, this man is going to be dead. You struggle to get out of Sam’s hold, but his arms are stronger than ever. The God slams the meat cleaver down on the man’s neck, severing his head.
“It’s too late,” Sam whispers, and you bury your head in his chest to resist killing those Gods out there.
“I can take them,” you argue.
“No, you can’t. There are too many of them,” he whispers back.
The Gods take their time chopping up the man, and they take the pieces with them back to the ballroom. The front desk is bloody and messy, but at least the room is empty. Sam lets you go, and you waste no time running towards the kitchen. Dean stares after his brother with an unhappy look on his face. There was no reason for Sam to hold you close like that for that long. This night needs to end so he can go back to being mad at you. Is he being childish? Maybe, but he doesn’t need his brother rubbing in the fact that you two are getting closer because of something you did.
After all, you did kill his niece. How can Sam be okay after what you did?
The occupants of the freezer scream and beg for you to let them go. Since you’re able to get them out the fastest, Sam and Dean watch your back while you use your magic to get the freezer unlocked. They beg and pound on the door which breaks your concentration multiple times. It’s hard to get things done when so much is weighing on your mind.
Suddenly, Dean is grabbed and thrown back into a metal shelving unit. You look over your shoulder at Dean, but he yells at you to keep going. Zao Shen grabs at Sam next, going for his throat. Dean is still woozy from his landing, so he’s not much help in this fight. Zao Shen squeezes Sam’s throat very tightly before tossing him to the side.
When the God knows they aren’t going to get in his way, he goes after you. Your hands and bright blue as are your eyes, and you were going to use this magic to unlock the door, but it looks like you have to use it for something else. Turning around, you place your hands in front of you to create a magical barrier between you and the God.
He looks at the blue barrier, but that only gives him determination to beat your ass. He pushes against the barrier as hard as he can, and your back slams against the metal door of the freezer. He slowly inches closer to you, and if Sam or Dean doesn’t do anything soon, then he is going to break through and kill you.
His face is mere inches from yours, but he doesn’t have the opportunity to go any further. Dean collects himself and gets up, grabbing the first thing he sees as a weapon. With it in hand, he rushes over to the God and penetrates his skin with the… wooden stake? Where the hell did he get that? He twists the stake inside Zao Shen, and the God quickly dies. Zao Shen falls to the ground, and you release the barrier with a deep breath.
“Thanks,” you pant.
“Don’t mention it,” he grumbles.
“Where the hell is Gabriel?” you ask.
Three more Gods enter the kitchen, and before you even have a chance to turn your attention to the hostages, they grab you and drag you back to the ballroom. You’re too tired from using all that magic at once, so you don’t even try and fight back. You enter the ballroom with a grunt, and the God who manhandles you thrusts your ass into a chair. Gabriel is already in the room, and he sits a few chairs down from you with Kali and the rest of the Gods nearby.
“How long have you known?” Gabriel asks Kali once everyone is settled down.
“Long enough.”
“How's the rescue going?” Dean asks the archangel sarcastically.
All he gets in return is Gabriel mocking him with his facial expressions.
“Well, surprise, surprise. The Trickster has tricked us,” Kali grins.
“Kali, don't,” Gabriel whispers.
“You're mine now. And you have something I want,” she says and takes a seat on his armchair so that she’s in his personal space. She reaches into his jacket and retrieves an angel blade that he’s kept hidden. “An Archangel's blade. From the Archangel, Gabriel.”
“Okay, okay!” he gives once she moves away. All eyes are on him, so he’s forced to give up his identity. “So I got wings, like Kotex. But that doesn't make me any less right about Lucifer.”
“He's lying. He's a spy,” Kali directs this towards the other Gods.
“I'm not a spy. I'm a runaway. I'm trying to save you. I know my brother, Kali. He should scare the living shit out of you. You can't beat him. I've skipped ahead, seen how this story ends—”
“Your story,” she interrupts, “not ours. Westerners, I swear. The sheer arrogance. You think you're the only ones on earth? You pillage and you butcher in your God's name. But you're not the only religion, and he's not the only God. And now you think you can just rip the planet apart? You're wrong. There are billions of us, and we were here first. If anyone gets to end this world, it's me. I'm sorry.”
Kali uses Gabriel’s own blade against him and shoves it deep within his chest. She has tears in her eyes as if she’s affected by her decision. As soon as Gabriel screams, you shoot out of your chair with a shout.
“No!” you yell.
The God assigned to you grabs your shoulders and forces you to sit once more. White light shines from Gabriel’s eyes and mouth, and with a flash of it, he’s dead. You look from Gabriel to Kali who just backs away emotionally.
“This is crazy,” Mercury sighs.
“They can die. We can kill Lucifer,” she declares.
“Alright, listen up you primitive screwups,” you say and get up.
You are done messing around.
“Are you outta your mind?” Sam mutters to you.
“I’m done fucking around!” you yell at him before turning back to the Gods. “Now on any other day, I’d kill every single one of you, but desperate times calls for desperate measures. So, even though I'd love nothing better than to slit your throats, you dicks, I'm gonna help you. I'm going to help you ice the devil. Then we can all get back to killing each other like normal. You want Lucifer, well, psycho’s not in the Yellow Pages. However, me, Sam and Dean can get him here.”
“How?” Kali asks, obviously intrigued.
“Oh no, you don’t get shit from me until those hostages are set free. Let them go, and then we’ll talk. We can either take on Lucifer together, or you asswipes can eat me. Literally,” you smile sarcastically. “Who do you think Lucifer wants more? You or us?”
Tumblr media
“Come on everybody!” you yell as all of the hostages run out of the hotel screaming. The Gods took your deal, and you’re just making sure the hostages are free to go before heading back inside. “Let's go! Alright, go, go, go! Get outta here!”
“Psst! Y/N!” someone whispers from the Impala. You take a few steps to see Gabriel sitting in the back seat. What the fuck? You thought he died inside. “Don't look at me! Act natural. Get in.”
“What the fuck?” you whisper but get in the driver's seat like you’re told to do. “Man, there is nothing natural about this at all. I thought you were dead.”
“You think I'd give Kali my real sword? That thing can kill me!” he exclaims.
He keeps his head down as to not be spotted by any peering eyes.
“Then what do they have in there?”
“A fake! Made it out of cans of diet orange slice. So, uh, go snag our blood, would ya?”
“Excuse me?”
“Use your witch powers to get it! I heard you in there. Kali likes you. You can get close. Lift the plasma, and then we vamoose.”
“No,” you shake your head. “Hand over the real blade. Better yet, why don't you sack up and help us take down Lucifer.”
“You can’t be serious.”
“Deadly,” you chuckle humorlessly.
“Since when are you butt buddies with a bunch of monsters? That's all they are to you, aren't they?”
“Yeah, it’s fucking nuts, but I’m right. It’s the best idea we’ve had all night. So, unless you got a better one, man the fuck up.”
“Good luck with that. Me? I'm blowing Jonestown. Those lemmings wanna run off a cliff, that's their business.”
“I see right through you, you know that? The smart-ass shell, the whole ‘I couldn’t give a shit’ thing? Believe me, it takes one to know one,” you scoff.
“That so?”
“Yes. Maybe those freaks in there aren't your blood, but they are your family.”
“They just stabbed me in the fucking heart!”
“That may be, but you still give a shit about them, don’t you?”
“Y/N.”
“They’re going to die in there without you,” you switch tactics.
“I can't kill my brother,” he whispers.
“Can’t or won’t?” you ask, but all you receive is silence on his end. “That’s what I thought.”
You turn to leave the car, but you pause. There is something else you want to say to him that might change his mind. You turn back to him with a sigh.
“Look, you must know what I did by now. Everyone’s talking about it. Dean thinks I gave up on family when I had your brother kill my child. He’s pissed at me, he picks a fight whenever he can, and he won’t let me by his side anymore. I screwed up big time, but he’s still my family. I’d give everything to have what I lost, but I won’t do it in this world—not like this.
“You know why? Because of your older brother. He’s what’s stopping me from having a family, Gabriel. You must remember when your dad made us, right? To love us more than him? Lucifer wanted to be the center of attention, so he’s throwing a big tantrum to prove he doesn’t play well. How can I raise a child in a world he’s going to destroy?
“He is going to destroy it, Gabriel, unless he’s stopped. Now, he won’t listen to us, but you can change his mind. You grew up with him, just like I grew up with Sam and Dean. You don’t know how many times I was able to stop Dean from doing something stupid. Now, we may not be archangels, but we are family.
“Michael clearly won’t stop Lucifer without Dean, I have no idea where Raphael is or what he’s planning on doing about this, so that leaves you. Sometimes, being a family means doing what’s best for someone else. If protecting humans means killing your brother, then that’s what needs to be done. After all, it is what your dad would have wanted, right?”
You leave Gabriel with that and exit the car. Gabriel watches as you walk back into the hotel to join sides with the Gods in defeating the devil.

Journey Into Mystery - Vol 123 - Loki Comic Read Through
Classic Loki Masterpost  Rating: Mod (Great)
Plot:
Plot A: The conclusion of the fight between Thor and Absorbing Man.
Plot B: Thor and co. voyage and their fight against a big stone dragon.
Favorite Moments:
Thor and the reporter go to Asgard.
Tumblr media
This is a really cool shot of Asgard, but it doesn’t look that big. Where the forest where Loki got imprisoned in in the first comic issue? It is that tuff of grass in the lower right. So, Loki was basically imprisoned in the local Park. Huh, I guess that when Heimdall came by randomly he was on a quick lunch break, randomly went by Loki’s tree, freed Loki and then went back to work.
So Thor talks with some of his bros and they tell him Absorbing Man is kicking their butts. Because BS is happening, therefore Loki is the cause (not a wrong idea with how Loki has been acting in the last previous issues). To stop all the Mayhem, Thor goes off to fight Absorbing man, but forgets someone.
Tumblr media
Oh, so that’s why Loki fights Thor. It’s the only way to keep Thor’s attention on Loki all the time. Kind of sad when you put it that way.
Deadpan: fantastic racism
Tumblr media
A witch doctor versus Vietnamese communists. What more could i ask for. =_=
Tumblr media
Hey Guys, I think you dropped something. Here Let me give it back to you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even though that is still racist, It also still a really cool moment.
Absorbing Man is Fighting against Odin. Thor asks Odin to let him fight Absorbing Man because he literally will absorbing every power. Odin doesn’t get the upper hand in the fight, then Loki confesses.
Tumblr media
Loki: See Dad, I’m stronger. Now gimme.
Tumblr media
Odin: Sure. Take it.
Thor: WHAT!?!? NO. DON’T.
Odin: Eh, what the worse that can happen. I want to see. (Odin up to something?)
Tumblr media
Loki: YES, I Finally have the Scepter. Now Asgard is MINE. KNEEL. >=D
Good Job Loki. You finally have the power to rule Asgard. How long until you screw it up. (About one Panel.)
Tumblr media
Absorbing Man: Hey, I want the scepter. Me is strongest.
Loki: Let go of the Scepter. It’s Mine >=C
Loki is squabbling with Absorbing Man. I guess Loki’s cunning plan didn’t include that small detail about how to deal with Absorbing Man.
Tumblr media
Thor: Um, Dad. You could just take the Scepter.
Odin: Wait, it’s just getting good.
Tumblr media
Loki: NO IT’S MINE.
Absorbing Man: NO IT’S MINE
Odin: Do guys do realize that neither of you can let it go?
Tumblr media
Odin: OH. And would you look at that. I can spin both of you Around. It’s almost like the scepter is literally my power that I can do whatever with.
Tumblr media
Odin: Have fun begin grounded in the middle of space Jackasses.
After some pomp celebrating how cool Odin is (was it really that noble to bully you son?) Thor and the Reporter return to earth.
Tumblr media
I personally don’t know much about Southeast Asia, specifically about their culture, religion, and belief beyond a surface level. However, I do not believe that any region in Southeast Asia was so primitive as to have big wooden towers, wear loin-clothes, and use spears as main weapons in the 60-70s. Especially is this is an area that is begin threatened by communists take-over, but what do I know about Asian history.
Thoughts on Comic:
This comic is just great. While there are better comics that display Loki’s mischievous behavior and ability to make complicated plans, this one does a great job with him preening around like a proud cat, squabbling over crap and getting defeated. Thor actually doesn’t do much, but you do get see him hyper-focus on stuff which is decent character building. Odin kind of begin a smart-ass is fun. The stuff in Asia ... I don’t really like. Maybe it’s just me, but it seem a bit racist. This is the 60s/ 70s so I can’t really give these writers the benifit of the doubt.

nobody’s gonna read this but i’m gonna rant a little as an ex-fundie kid with a perspective on unconscious bias re: thedas’ religions. (i’ll grant you i do not have encyclopedic knowledge of dragon age, so i’m commenting based off what 90% of people know - the games)
If we’re assuming that every interaction concerning the religions in Thedas is intentional, it’s genius. It represents real world religious dynamics so well. But that’s also assuming we’re going to be allowed to confront those religions; otherwise, it’s just a carbon copy with no purpose but to reflect reality. You’re duplicating problems, without offering avenues for solutions or even criticism.
I want to leave this uncut in case a piece of it actually caught someone’s eye for some reason, but I’d feel bad if I did that.
I’m actively agnostic. I have no problem with other people being religious. I react quite negatively to both active and passive attempts at conversion. I know a LOT about Christianity. I know some, though not as much, about other world religions.
We can pretend all we like that Thedas is a world completely separated from reality. “Lighten up, it’s just a game.” I can, however, point to direct parallels between game concepts and real world concepts that I find quite troubling (Blackwall’s plot, certain wartable missions, Descent DLC), I can expound on those at length as well. And of course it’s just a game, and you can stab people with no consequences and all that - that’s fine. Stabbing people in a game isn’t likely to make you think it’s OK to stab people IRL. But a game has the power to subtly reinforce existing biases which can cause real harm.
Christianity is a dominant world religion. In fundamentalist circles, one of the tenets is to spread it to as many people as possible, to save them from themselves. Even casual Christians adopt this attitude when they tell you how sad they are that you’re not Christian, because they think you’ll be happier as one and can’t fathom how you’d be happy without god. I can get REAL deep into Christian psychology, but I’ll spare you. The thing is, this is an insidious train of thought that has been beaten into the world by its victors. Monotheistic religions are treated more seriously than pantheons. The Bible is held as separate and more holy than “myths,” which are treated as little better than Harry Potter novels. Religions that encourage non-Western behaviors are treated as scary, deviant, and oppressive - to be obliterated before they dare to try converting precious Christians - DESPITE Christians actively trying to lure those believers away from their “scary” faith and into Christianity. They think their own religion is more normal, or their own culture is more normal. All of this leads to many, many Christians (as well as your average Westerner) holding really racist, xenophobic views they don’t perceive as racist or xenophobic.
SO LIKE - I’ll just make a bulletpoint list:
Andrastianism = Christianity (esp. Western brand)
Evanuris = Pantheistic religions
Qun = Eastern philosophies
The familiarity and diversity is fine. There’s pros and cons to each religion, just like real life. Thedas is fun because it takes aspects of discrimination like racism and sexuality and pretzels it to be same-but-different. No matter your background, you have the chance to get really involved in the ethical dilemmas provided, the visceral experience of being insulted and responding to insults with pride, and it’s fun to read something new and feel some kind of vindication if you had a suspicion before.
What irritates me currently about the religions is that every time I get a little taste of “Okay, finally, we’re acknowledging the damage a religion like this can do,” I get kicked right the fuck back. I spent so long hating the Chantry more and more because it started to become clear to me the intentional abuse being directed at literally anyone who wasn’t a non-mage human, and even then they abused their own followers to exert further control over mages for personal gain. (Seriously, FUCK the Chantry.) FINALLY, Exalted Plains acknowledged that the Chantry steamrolled over the elves in a brutal slaughter, where Sister Whatserface tried to blame the elves for being “too far from the Maker” but she was a good person for “showing them more mercy than they deserved.” Clear signals that Bioware intended it to be taken as it was - an unjust crusade. Then what do they throw in my face? Some documents intending to show that the elves were “also at fault.” Excuse me? I’m sorry, excuse me?!
Elves had already been the subject of extensive oppression at that point, and given the racist goddamn teachings of Sister Whatserface and ALL THE DIVINES, I can hardly blame the elves for being just a little testy with the humans sticking their noses into their lands trying to force them to convert to Andrastianism. “Equally to blame” my ass. This is a pebble against a boulder. And yet I’m supposed to treat it like some kind of shocking revelation. Ooo - should I turn these documents in to the Chantry to exploit the elves some more, or should I give them to the Dalish, who then react with shame? There’s no just option: have the Dalish explain why maybe elves would be just a little angry, and have my Inquisitor go “oh yeah, that makes sense. kbye”
Finishing up with the Dalish, we get told by some pride demon ass lying fucker that all the Dalish gods that these poor widdle uneducated primitive elves worship were essentially slavers. Hahah. WHAT. Sorry. WHAT. You’re going to make me play through a game with my character’s religion shat on or flat out ignored at literally every turn, and my vindication is to be told it’s all fake and my ancestors were idiots for ever believing? Canonically? Really? When do we get told that we checked the Fade and the Maker wasn’t there and don’t these humans look pretty dumb now?! Or is that too risque because Andrastianism is a little too close to Christianity?
Then there’s the reaction to the Qun. I have loved Qunari since Sten. I honestly think it’s a really cool concept and I would love to explore it more deeply. I also LOVE Sten. Sten seemed so calm and generally fairly accepting, although he had his own flaws. He also had hidden depths - push aside the fronting and you get his cookies and chocolate loving sweetness. (If people hate him, again, come see me after class so we can have a chat on why you stan Blackwall but not Sten?)
But it seems like the Qun is falling victim to the world needing a reliable villain. What was once a mysterious system of beliefs existing outside the concept of the Maker or Dalish gods is increasingly this Scary religion that oppresses women and mages in barbaric ways, and is treated as horrible for trying to spread their religion to other lands (allow me to remind you of Exalted Plains and why every person in the game seems to be Andrastian by default, or at least Andrastian-sympathetic). It’s essentially playing up the fears that makes people uncomfortable with Eastern religions, relying on xenophobia to make them hateable enough that you don’t accidentally end up with too many Qun sympathizers in the playerbase. Even though you can play as a Qunari in Inquisition (hell yeah), you aren’t allowed any kind of Qun background. It’s understandable in some ways, plot-wise, but baffling in others. How much cooler would it be to have access to Qun beliefs like the Dalish has access to the Evanuris?
And now they have the Qunari poised to be the result of doing horrible dragon-blood experiments on elves by MORE slavers, and their religion’s entire purpose is to limit their horrible dragony desires to murder people, but now they want to subjugate others to live under their rule of law to make a horrifying monotone culture. Aren’t these scary-looking Qunari even more scary? There’s a reason to hate them now, they’re canonically more violent, just like the dragons! (Do not get me started on how dragons are treated. Actually, do, I have a lot of thoughts on that too. lmao) REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Then you have the Tal-Vashoth, not only defectors who found fault with the philosophy who are then hunted relentlessly by the believers, but also twisting back on themselves to be crazy violent, therefore simultaneously a condemnation of the Qun and an affirmation of its necessity to keep Qunari from being violent. Where are the defectors from Andrastianism? Literally every ex-fundie Christian kid I know has had a sex and/or drug-fueled meltdown period after having their core beliefs and foundation obliterated. Why do we have all these pure innocent Chantry Virgins, but no defectors? The only atheist you get to meet is your own Inquisitor, and you have a HELL of a time through the whole game as a result of it. (Though I will say the payoff at the very end of the game is so very worth it.) Almost ALL of your companions nag you about why you don’t believe you’re Chosen. I have yet to play as a believer, but I haven’t seen any indications I would be criticized for it.
And so what of Andrastianism? Is it fakery? Lies? Canonically brought into existence to oppress people? The product of slavers?
NOT YET.
Any criticism brought against Andrastianism is neatly and shortly thereafter countered, not by an untrustworthy member of the Chantry but by some word-of-god canon itself. The Maker stands, silent, valid, unchallenged.
There’s nothing wrong with presenting these complex scenarios, but if you don’t have the time, resources, or courage to REALLY plumb these depths, give everyone fair criticism (and it is not fair to ding the predominant world religion with the same criticisms as you level against a dying minority religion), don’t bother. You make the real world problems worse.
